ABOUT THE PROJECT
The new Etihad Football Academy, in Casey Fields, is a brilliant piece of sporting architecture. It’s a redeveloped brownfield site that’s now home to Victoria’s most prestigious football club – Melbourne City FC – and such a prestigious project surely calls for the most prestigious of materials!
Enter; GT Ultimate and Apex. A versatile, sturdy exposed grid system coupled with a high-performance mineral fibre ceiling tile, and incorporated throughout the lower level of the stadium stands. The system strikes a delicate balance – softening noise without totally deadening the space – and thereby creates a functional environment for players, fans and staff alike. Whether it’s a young aspiring athlete or a seasoned professional, the academy is a dynamic space in which they can take their game to the next level.

The all-rounder. Apex sports a fine fissured, non-directional face, making for more efficient installation with minimal wastage. Available in various size and edge options, allowing complete design flexibility. And tied in with high-performance sound absorption and attenuation – it’s a win-win! Apex also featured at our latest commercial development project in the ACT – One Taubman Street – proving its versatility across a variety of project types.
At Etihad, the Apex starred in a 1200 x 600mm panel size, edge type SQ (square). The most common configuration, you’ll find this tile available across the country – check out our distributors page for where you can purchase!
