WHICH CEILING TILES CAN BE REPURPOSED?
Recyclable ceiling tiles are mineral fibre tiles of any brand that are dry and free from contamination, and EnviroTile accepts them all. Vinyl-faced tiles, damaged tiles and tiles containing asbestos aren’t accepted. There’s no minimum quantity, and collection is available anywhere in Australia.

HOW WE CONFIRM YOUR TILES ARE SUITABLE
Before any bulk collection, NCS collects sample tiles from site and tests them. Testing confirms the tiles meet environmental compliance standards and can be processed into an agricultural and landscaping product. Bulk collection only goes ahead once NCS has approved the tiles.
KEEPING TILES ELIGIBLE
Most tiles are rejected because of how they’re handled during the de-fit, not because of what they’re made of. To keep them eligible:
-
- Remove tiles carefully to avoid breakage.
- Keep them separate from grid, insulation and general waste.
- Store them somewhere dry until collection.
For the full process, see How to remove ceiling tiles for recycling.
