“Diversity” – the CSIRO National Collections Building.

  • Date: 2024
  • Products: Trident, Metal Mesh + Metal Pan

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Designed by Hassell and built by Hindmarsh, the new CSIRO National Collections Building is a striking achievement. It is home to “15,000,000 natural history specimens, used by researchers, government and industry to describe, manage and benefit from Australia’s rich biodiversity.” (CSIRO)

METAL PAN CEILING PANELS

Metal pan, perforated ceiling tiles were supplied to this project, finished in Dulux Powders’ Dune™️ powder coat.

These tiles featured black acoustic backing, to improve acoustic performance within the space. Additionally, metal tiles are more resistant to damage, and easier to clean, making them ideal for this type of space.

METAL MESH CEILING PANELS

Metal expanded metal mesh panels were also supplied to this project, in the same Dune powder coat.

These tiles add an industrial aesthetic while maintaining the durability and simplicity common of metal ceiling tiles; allowing some visibility into the ceiling plenum.
